Tea Routine: Reconnecting through gardening
In our fast-paced world, it is easy to lose touch with nature and the satisfaction of working with our hands. Gardening offers a simple way to slow down and reconnect, even if you have never considered yourself a gardener.
This week, take your tea outside and get your hands in the soil. Whether it is tending to a garden, planting flowers, or growing herbs on a windowsill, the act of nurturing plants can be deeply calming. I recently started growing herbs in my kitchen, and the quiet joy of watching them thrive has been surprisingly grounding. Whether I’ll be able to keep them alive for long is another matter but I’m getting a lot out of nurturing them and using them in my tea and cooking.
Gardening is more than just growing plants. It reduces stress, boosts mood, and brings a sense of accomplishment. You do not need a big space. Try a small herb pot or visit a community garden. The key is to be present, to feel the soil, and to give yourself a moment to slow down.
Take a few minutes this week to plant something, breathe in the fresh air, and see how it shifts your mindset. Have you experienced the benefits of gardening?
